TOUR DU MONT BLANC - 2007 - DAY 9

 JUNE 12

Unstable weather continues in the morning.

Why do they all look alike? Is this one big happy family?

We are slowly gaining elevation on the way to the Col de la Croix du Bonhomme (2,433m)

The refuge is getting ready to accept the first tourists. There is no road to here, the supplies are brought by a helicopter.

A family of ibexes watches our descend to the Col de Bonhomme (2,329m).

One has to be careful and surefooted crossing steep snow fields.

Wanda is happy to finally reach the end of the snow.

We follow the trail to Les Contamines-Montjoie (1,164m).

We stop for a moment to admire a beautiful church of Notre Dame de la Gorge.

For about an hour we are the only people in Hotel la Gelinotte. The owner has left to pick up her children from the local school.
