TRAINING FACILITIES

Hardwood Hills is a nordic skiing and mountain bike centre. It is located north/east of Barrie, Ontario, Canada

"Experience Nordic Skiing at its best on 34 km of meticulously groomed trails winding through picturesque snow-laden forests of pine and hardwood. We groom all our trails for both the traditional Classic technique and the newer Skating technique. We keep our trails groomed to perfection with 2 power-tilling snowcats. Hardwood Hills offers the best Nordic Skiing in Southern Ontario. We were the first private Nordic Ski Center in Canada to install snowmaking to guarantee skiing and keep the trails clean, crisp and white. We offer three distinct trail systems for differing abilities. Snowshoers can also enjoy dedicated ungroomed snowshoe trails.

Enjoy beautiful, rolling trails through hardwood and pine forests for mountain biking. We have over 80 km of double and single track trails offering endless possibilities of different riding experiences."

For more than twenty years Hardwood Hills have been a home-away-from-home for me and my family. Kim and Dave Viney, the owners, have provided me with beautiful facilities for winter endurance training. I will be proud to carry the green maple leafs to the top of the world.

SEARCH FOR CLEAN AIR

With 6800 employees around the world, the Viessmann Group is one of the world's leading manufacturers of heating technology - and Europe's best-selling brand of floor-mounted boilers. Worldwide, the name Viessmann stands for expertise and innovation. A family-owned company since 1917, Viessmann now operates 10 manufacturing facilities in Germany, France and Canada. 106 sales & distribution centers in Germany and 33 other countries provide customer proximity and a strong global presence. Viessmann offers a complete range of high-tech, state-of-the-art heating products, each a design-matched component in the progressive Viessmann system technology. Despite their diversity, Viessmann products have one thing in common: a high standard of quality throughout the entire product line that translates into operational reliability, energy savings, environmental friendliness and operational comfort.

"We perceive it as our duty to society to supply energy-saving and environmentally friendly products; we are committed to 'clean' production, materials utilization and waste management." This is the first of Viessmann 10 Company Principles.

For the entire "value-adding" chain of production - from processing raw materials to handling, manufacturing and recycling - we strive to minimize environmental impact. Even in the design phase we think "recycling". After many years of use, materials can still be identified and reprocessed."

As a consulting engineer, I have been designing heating systems with Viessmann products for many years. The company's "SEARCH FOR CLEAN AIR" environmental commitment coincides very well with my philosophy. I am grateful for their support and will gladly take the Viessmann flag with me to the top of the World.
