CASA DE PIEDRA

After an early breakfast, we pack the camp and continue our trek. Today our destination is Casa de Piedra (Stone House) a campsite located 3,200 m (10,500 feet) above the sea level. The trail continues along the Vacas River. In a few places, we have to climb on the side of the local hills to avoid crossing the river.

After six hours of hiking, we reach a junction with the Relinchos Valley. For the first time we can see the east face of Aconcagua. The summit is 3,762 m (12,343 feet) higher than Casa de Piedra and the Polish Glacier is clearly visible on the right side.
